An explanation of how Max Polyakov and the Noosphere helped to enhance the Maker Movement with the wonderful BestRoboFest 2017 in Ukraine

On the 3rd of June, Ukraine hosted the technology event that could be described as one of the biggest in Dnipro. The event showcased the newest technologies in drone racing. It involved the drone racing championships and competitions on robot design, and it was named BestRoboFest 2017. The BestRoboFest takes place every year, and is organized by Max Polyakovs's Association Noosphere.

Highlights of the Bestrobofest 2017

The event that lasted for 48 hours welcomed young engineers from different parts of the country sample their robot designs. Races and fighting robots were involved, there was even a freestyle competition, which gave robots’ designers the chance to sample their technical and creative abilities. In the bid to make sure that people of all age grades were carried along, Max Polyakov ensured that there were at least 30 different categories of competition.

The football field was filled to the brim by ecstatic supporters. The human pilots came out with robots to reveal what they have designed. The pitch on the stadium presented a perfect arena for the 25 different teams to exploit and dazzle onlookers with their crafts fighting for the big price.

The event supported by Max Polyakov also presented different workshops for those who were interested. The major areas where both old and young delved into included designing of robots, programming of the machines with Arduino chips and WeDo, and then flying of drones.

The Noosphere Engineering School Angle

With the various state of the art technologies on display at the Expozone, the innovations from Noosphere Engineering School were brought to the fore. Strides that were made in military technology in the recent past in the bid to safeguard the country were also revealed by the Artos, meaning the Automated Artillery Fire Control System. There was also the MyPolice app, with which the police could be contacted with a single click of the smartphone to help keep cities safe and secure.

The Family Angle

Max Polyakov insisted that BestRoboFest should be family oriented, that’s why there were also a lot of games for kids. These games, food, and other activities kept the families busy all through the event. Now, people that enjoy food competitions had the burger eating competition to enjoy. In the bid to power up the fun and entertainment aspect of the event and keep the adrenaline running, there were performances from dance schools, local artists and some live bands.

The initiator of the BestRoboFest, Max Polyakov when speaking to the crowd, pointed out the value of the Maker Movement in Ukraine. Workshops on robots design and engineering motivated many young people at the event to learn more about the robotics. As always, Max Polyakov was very happy with the increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous event. Most importantly, he acknowledged the young people that took part and he looks forward to see them spearhead the resurgence of the industry in Ukraine in the future.
